Amanda's Cruise for JA - 2005

Cruisin’ the Open Road - 2005

What could be better than spending a beautiful Saturday on the open road?

Doing it for charity!

Hot Rod Power Tour it wasn’t, but twenty cars, including four from Windsor, one from Niagara Falls, and the rest scattered throughout Central Ontario took part in the 1st annual Amanda’s Cruise for Juvenile Arthritis on Saturday Sept 17th. The day was a big success and raised $1200.00 for the Arthritis Society in support of Juvenile Arthritis research and local programs. All participants received a goody bag that included a car wash from Fine Details and a gift from Lucas Oil Products.

The day long cruise provided lots of opportunities to meet up with old friends and to make new ones during the lunch stop in Goderich, and the BBQ in the evening at Fat Chuk’s Street Rods and Restorations.

Cruise participants took part in a poker run, license plate scavenger hunt, and an eye spy contest along the route that took them through Staffa, Kippen, Clinton, Grand Bend, Lucan and Prospect Hill.

The Circle City Cruizers hosted a wonderful lunch at the Park House in Goderich which included live music from Kim & Travis, and a chance to look at all of the cars that came out to the lunch.

The cruisers took the opportunity to check out the beach in Goderich and Grand Bend as onlookers smiled and gave thumbs up to a great line up of hot rods.

Things got even hotter in St. Marys as they fired up the BBQ for dinner, and started to hand out participant prizes, raffle prizes, and the 50/50 prize. The raffle prize table was overflowing with prizes from donators that included the TADD APC store in St. Marys, North of 49 Racing from Calgary, Dowler Karn Fuels, HD Brown, Pioneer Petroleum, and others. Everyone was hoping to win the coupon for 50% off tires from Fowler Tires, or the evening for twenty at the Brick Brewery hospitality room.

At the end of the day we raised $1200.00 in support of Juvenile Arthritis.

The 2nd annual Amanda’s Cruise for JA is scheduled for Sept 30th, 2006 at Shades Mill’s Conservation Area in Cambridge, and you can find out more information about it at
